Of Lakeland passed away early Saturday morning April 24, 2010 in the VA Medical Center in Gainsville, FL after a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 23, 1934 in Toombs Co. GA to the late Homer W. and Catherine Harris Barfield. Mr. Barfield had lived in Lanier over 20 years. He was a retired cabinet maker but never gave up his love for working with wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Curtis Barfield and 5 brothers and 1 sister. He was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Lanier County.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday April 27, 2010 in the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church with burial in Longbridge Cemetery in Berrien County, GA.
