George "Adron" Day – 88
Of Valdosta, GA passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 13, 1926 in Coffee County, GA to George Henderson and Anna Mae Jackson Day. He was the owner of Day Construction Company and a member of the Abundant Life Church of God. His greatest joy was ministering for Christ through song with his gospel group, "The Adron Day Family." Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two of his brothers, Rev. Edward Day and Aubrey Day, by two of his sisters, Willene Graham, Joann Renew, by a daughter, Anna Christine Day, by a granddaughter, April Dawn Gaddy and by a special nephew, Kenneth Rampey.
His survivors include,
Wife of 63 years, Pauline Day of Valdosta, GA; Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Paul & Elaine Day of Valdosta, GA; David & Ramona Day of Valdosta, GA, Daniel Day & C.C. Nardone of Valdosta; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Brenda Sue & Bennie Gaddy of Barney, GA; Sons; Darrell Day of Valdosta, GA; Stephen Day of Valdosta, GA; Brian Day of Valdosta, GA; 12 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild; Brothers, James Day & Leroy Day; Sisters, Delores Wooten & Betty Carol Smith; Numerous Nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Abundant Life Church of God with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers you may make donations to Kasey Colson 229-249-4180 in care of the George Adron Day Family at BB&T located at 2901 A North Ashley Street, Valdosta, GA 31602.
