Of Valdosta passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born September 28, 1956 to Anna Meacham and the late George Johnson, Sr. He grew up in Valdosta and was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He graduated from Lowndes County High School and was a loyal member of Lowndes High Marching Vikings. He later attended Valdosta State College. He worked for Lowes Inc. and transferred to Tallahassee, Fla. Moving back to Valdosta in 1992. He was an avid Georgia football fan. Along with his father he is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. Bobby and Mrs. Jolene Hammons
He is survived by his, Wife of 32 years, Cindy Hammons Johnson, Valdosta, GA, Mother, Anna Meacham Johnson, Quitman, GA, Sister-in-law, Cathy Hammons, Valdosta, GA, Brother-in-law, Bobby Hammons, Atlanta, GA, Aunt & Uncle, Otis & Beverly Fletcher, Valdosta, GA, Special Friends, Emory & Beverly Parrish, Valdosta, GA, Olin Godwin, Hahira, GA
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 16, 2009 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the funeral home.
