Of Valdosta passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 in Fellowship Home. He was born on October 11, 1935 in High Springs, FL to the late George Benjamin, Sr. & Catherine Mildred Chastain Lord. Mr. Lord served in the United State Army Reserve. He began his education career as a 6th grade teacher in Naylor; after the closing of the school he moved to Pine Grove Primary as a principal before retiring at Moulton Branch Elementary School after 31 years of service. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his, Wife of 44 years, Virginia Lord, Valdosta, GA; Daughter & Son-in-law, Angela & Mike Kufrovich, Hahira, GA; Son, Eric Lord, Valdosta, GA; 2 Nephews
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in the chapel at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA. 31602.
