George Glenn McPherson

George Glenn McPherson, 89, of Hahira, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Langdale Hospice House.

Born in McRoberts, Kentucky, George was the son of the late Jesse Lee McPherson and Ora Cox McPherson.

George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after a distinguished military career. Following his retirement, he became a licensed exterminator.

A devoted member of Hahira Methodist Church, George faithfully served his church family for many years as a Sunday School teacher. His commitment to serving others extended throughout the community as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion Post 218 in Hahira, and The Gideons International.

George found great joy in fishing and had a deep passion for genealogy, spending countless hours researching and preserving his family's history.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Carole Rashford; sisters: Faye Powers and Dephine Hamilton and his brother, Luther McPherson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan McPherson of Hahira, Georgia; son, Kevin McPherson of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Kelly Brooks of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren: Christopher Reynolds, Erika Hudson (Deacon), and Sean McPherson; great grandchildren: Sadie Hudson and Lucy Hudson.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta.
