George Brown Rudd

George Brown Rudd, age 71, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He was born April 19, 1951 to the late Lillie Mae Creamer Rudd and Robert Washington Rudd in Valdosta, Georgia. Mr. Rudd was a lifelong resident of Lowndes County, and a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War, and a member of American Legion Post 13, and Azalea Masonic Lodge #716 where he served as Chaplain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Rudd and Henry Rudd; and his father and mother-in-law: Nita and Frank Weeks; brother-in-law: Wyndall Peavy and cousin John I Creamer and two furry companions, Lady and Smoky.
Mr. Rudd is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Jane Weeks Rudd of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter Jennifer Rudd of Valdosta, Georgia; cousin: Bonnie Bernard (Randy) of Elijah, Georgia; sisters-in-law: Betty S. Rudd of Valdosta, Georgia, Frances Peavy of Valdosta, Georgia, and Donna Carney (John) of Valdosta, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 o’clock am Friday, June 10, 2022 at Redland Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery at 4514 Mt. Zion Road Valdosta, Georgia 31602. The family will be receiving friends Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Music Funeral Services, Valdosta.
