George Bernice Taft

Of Homerville, passed away Thursday evening September 10, 2009 in the Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center in Lakeland, Georgia after a lengthy illness. He was born August 21, 1927 in Clinch County, Georgia to the late Jessie and Julia Register Taft. He served in the United States Army. He fought in World War II and received the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. He worked for Container Corporation.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009 in North Cemetery in Dupont, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
