Of Ray City passed away Wednesday, December 01, 2010 in Smith Northview Hospital. He was born in Springfield, NJ on January 18, 1937 to the late Harry & Frances Samuelson Welter. Mr. Welter was a past Post Commander of American Legion Post 13, founding member of Westside Lanier Fire Department, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and served in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his, Wife, April Welter, Ray City, GA; Daughters & Son-in-law, Catheryn Welter, Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Janice Scalsky, Copperas Cove, TX, Johnia & Daniel Allen, Statenville, GA; Grandchildren, Jonathan Scalsky, Jacquelyn Scalsky, Steven Scalsky, Sierra Allen, and Maya Allen; Extended family, Linda King; Special Friends, Richard & Joann Brown, Valdosta, GA, RD & Hilde Martin, Valdosta, GA
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Dan O'Connell officiating. A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, December 3, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; following rosary the family will receive friends at the church until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Legion Post 13 Veterans Assistant Fund, P.O. Box 1005, Valdosta , GA 31603
