She was born in Berrien County on June 7, 1912 and had lived most of her life in Lakeland. She was a member of the Lakeland Church of God. Mrs. Clowers was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Starling the father of her children.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday February 6, 2005 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Burnt Church Cemetery.
