Gerald “G” Dwayne Watts, Sr. – 50
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born on July 23, 1967 in Memphis, TN to Munch Denton of Memphis, TN and the late Cassandra (Watts) Joyner. He served his country proudly for 21 years in the United States Air Force, having earned his BA in Social Psychology and pursuing a double Major after retirement as a Master Sargent. After serving in the military, “G” became an investigator and detective over the Narcotics Unit for the Valdosta Police Department, where he had been serving for 10 years. When he was not serving the citizens of Valdosta he could be found spoiling his 2 granddaughters or spending time with family on the beach. Gerald was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruby Watts.
Survivors include his Wife of 30 years, Vicky Watts of Valdosta, GA; Sons and Daughter-in-Law, Gerald Watts, Jr of Valdosta, GA, DeVante & Geneva Watts of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren, Michaela and Luna Watts of Valdosta, GA; Brothers & Sister-in-Law, Cedric & Ashley Joyner of Memphis, TN, Quinton & Rhapsody Joyner of Memphis, TN; Sister, Katherine Denton, Great Aunt, Margaret Jackson of Memphis, TN, Nieces & Nephews, Skyler, Braden, Jamison, Dylan, Keegan, Nolan, Rylan, CJ, Alexis, Cassandra and Cheyenne. A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Memphis Tennessee.
