Of Valdosta passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008, in South Georgia Medical Center. He was born November 4, 1924, in Adel, GA to the late Dr. Clyde E. and Mary Sue Johnson Hallman. He was a member of the ValdostaWildcats first State Championship football team in 1940. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Dorris A. Norris. During WWII, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific as a Gunner's Mate Second Class on PT 195 in Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron Twelve. After returning home, he was a businessman throughout his lifetime and guided his Son-in-Law, Grandsons, and Grandson-in-Law all to establish successful businesses. For many years he was a member of The American Legion Post 13 and a Master Mason in Azalea Lodge #716. He attended Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Jennings, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Dorris Hallman and 2 Brothers Clyde Denton Hallman & Willis E. Hallman

Survivors include, Daughter, Linda Sue Crosby, Valdosta, GA, 3 Grandchildren, Charles Hoyt Crosby III, Valdosta, GA, Gerald Otis & Christina Crosby, Valdosta, GA, Susan LeAnn & Joe Brantley, Valdosta, GA, 5 Great Grandchildren, Loving and devoted wife of 10 years, Martha Rineer Hallman, Valdosta, GA, Step-daughter & Son-in-Law, Cindy & Zeke Cumbess, Echols County, Step Grandchildren, Lisa & Steve Corbett, Echols County, Matt & Dee Courson, Echols County, Randy & Mary Courson, Echols County, Erika & Jim Norton, Mexico Beach, FL, Several Nieces and Nephews

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday August 13, 2008 at 11:00 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home
