Of Lakeland passed away late Sunday morning in the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart attack. He was born and lived most of his life in Lanier County. He was owner of Lee Grocery, lovingly called Teeterville Mall. He farmed and was a brick mason prior to purchasing the store He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army served during the Korean War. He was proceeded in death by his parents Robert E. and Cordia Bell Knight Lee and his wife Marie Hand Lee.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 2:00 P.M in the Empire Primitive Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Empire Cemetery in Lanier County.
