Gloria Ann Sulkowski, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 23, 1952, in Norwich, Connecticut, Gloria was the cherished daughter of Leodore Joseph Bombardier and Marquerite Martel Bombardier. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering passion for family, friends, and community.
In 1972, Gloria married the love of her life, Frank Sulkowski Jr., and together they built a family filled with love and laughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and their son, Ryan Sulkowski. Gloria is survived by her two sons, Frank Sulkowski III and his wife Lori, and Joseph Sulkowski and fiancée Heidi Payne Taylor, along with her beloved daughter-in-law, Heather Sulkowski. She took immense pride in her five grandchildren: Abbie, Aubrey, Doxie, Charlotte, and Emma, who were the light of her life.
Gloria's educational journey commenced at Jamesburg High School in New Jersey, from which she graduated with pride. She went on to dedicate her professional life to the service of others, most recently working as the Gift Processing Coordinator at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College until her retirement. Her spirit of service extended beyond her profession; Gloria was an active member of the Lions Club, the American Cancer Society, and the Alzheimer’s Association, where she advocated for those in need and supported various causes close to her heart.
Known for her boundless passion for family and friends, Gloria was a longtime supporter of breast cancer patients and survivors, embodying the strength and resilience she admired in them. Her legacy is defined by her compassion and commitment to making the world a better place. Gloria's infectious smile and kind heart touched many lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Gloria was preceded in death by her sister, Regina Thompson, and brothers, George and Lawrence Bombardier. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and community spirit that will continue to inspire those who follow.
In accordance with her wishes, the family will hold no formal services. They wish to express their heartfelt gratitude for the countless thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gloria’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or CURE Childhood Cancer, honoring her lifelong commitment to supporting others in their battles with illness.
