Glyndon Lee Register

Glyndon “Papa” Register – 70 of Lakeland, Georgia passed away on Monday October 12, 2020 in his residence, surrounded by his family. Glyndon was born on October 17, 1949 in Teeterville, GA. He was the son of the late Mary Elizabeth (Yarbrough) and Cecil Register. Glyndon served in the United States Air Force, then went on to farm for the rest of his life. He grew cotton and peanuts as a row cropper. In his later years, discovered a love for farming cattle. Glyndon also worked with the Lanier County Sheriff’s Department for many years. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Grant Register.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Kathy (Yancey) Register of Lakeland, GA; Sons: Glyn Register and wife, Melody of Lakeland, GA, Greg Register and wife, Christi of Naylor, GA; Granddaughters: Katelyn Hunt (Jamie), Meghan Register, Hannah Register; Great Granddaughters: Raylyn Hunt, AnnaLee Hunt; Sisters: Linda Green (Irvin) of Valdosta, GA, Sharon Gillard of Huntsville, AL; a number of nieces and nephews and Furry Companion: Maggie.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Pleasant Way Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may come by the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 14, 2020 to sign the guestbook. The family will not be present at the funeral home.
