Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at his residence. He was born on April 17, 1956 in Marianna, FL to the late Leamon and Lonzell Johnson Yon. Mr. Yon worked in the commercial seafood industry his entire life until health forced his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leamon Yon, and a sister, Sue James.
His survivors include, Daughters & Son-in-Law, Sarah & Dennis Waltman of Lakeland, GA; Gidget Oakley of Tallahassee, FL; Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Bennie & Edrell Yon of Lumberton, MS; Billy & Kassie Yon of Jacksonville, NC; Jerome & Peggy Calhoun of Barney, GA; James & Bobbie Calhoun of Panama City, FL; Finance, Belinda Willoughby of Lakeland, GA; 15 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Shirley Cooper of Apalachacola, FL; and Brother, Cleatus Anderson of Apalachacola, FL.
A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
