Gwen Davis

December 4, 1940 — May 19, 2025

Gwen Davis-84
Of Quitman, Georgia Passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Presbyterian Home of Quitman following a lengthy illness. She was born in Tifton, Georgia to the late Robert Harvey Spradley and Lois Sword Spradley in Tifton, Georgia. She was a woman with an extraordinary heart — selfless, caring, and strong-willed, with an unwavering independence that carried her through life with grace and resilience. A dedicated nurse for many years, she poured compassion into every patient she cared for, always putting others before herself. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. Whether it was tending to her beautiful garden — where everything she touched seemed to bloom — or gathering everyone together for the holidays, she found joy in the simple, meaningful moments. Her green thumb was matched only by her passion for a well-pressed shirt and a fresh load of laundry, and she took pride in keeping a home filled with warmth and care. She especially loved cooking for her family, filling the kitchen with the comforting smells of holiday meals that brought everyone together. Her treasured recipes were lovingly passed down to her children, a legacy of flavor and tradition that will continue for generations. Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains held a special place in her heart — a peaceful retreat that reflected her appreciation for nature, beauty, and quiet reflection. Her faith was her guiding light. A devout Christian and longtime member of Ocala Springs Baptist Church, she lived her life rooted in grace, kindness, and unshakable belief. She will be remembered for her strength, her nurturing spirit, and the boundless love she gave to those blessed enough to know her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Montifa and Brother, Eugene. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carole Rozier (David) of Brooks County, Georgia; Son and daughter-in-law; Travis Arrington (Marsha) of Tifton, Georgia, Son and daughter-in-law, David Arrington (Pam) of Ocala, Florida, Son and daughter-in-law, Wendell Arrington (Stephanie) of Leesburg, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Oleita (Mike) of Port Richie, Florida; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and a number of special friends.
