Harold Taylor Simpson, 55, Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center, Lanier Campus. He was born on March 19, 1964 in Lakeland, GA to the late Robert and Patricia (Lanier) Simpson. He worked as a farmer and enjoyed being outdoors deer hunting. He was a member of The Lakeland Masonic Lodge Post #434, Lakeland United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau and a 911 Board Member. He was also a Lanier County Commissioner for 12 years. He graduated from Lanier County High School Class of 1984 and Ware Tech with a degree in forestry. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Simpson and step-son, Will Hiers.
Survivors include his Wife, Linda Exum Simpson of Lakeland; Daughter, Taylor Simpson (Ashley Badillo) of Lakeland; Step Daughter, Elizabeth and Steven Ethridge of Lakeland, GA; Grandchildren: Evie Badillo, Ashlynn Ethridge, Waverleigh Ethridge, Richard Ethridge, Cohen Ethridge and Will Hiers; Sister and Brother-in-Law, Ann and Larry Lee of Lakeland, GA; Brothers and Sisters-in-Law, Tommy and Debbie Simpson of Lakeland, GA, Bert and Judy Simpson of Lakeland, GA; nieces and nephews, Alex Lee (Kristy), Mary Carol Greene (Kemp), Will Simpson (Cindy), Kyle Simpson, Nichole Barber; 2 Sisters-in-law, Sarah Sumner (Tommy) of Brookfield, GA, Carolyn Verenaknis of Lakeland, GA;
Brother-in-law, James Exum (Donna) of Hahira, GA; numerous great nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Southside Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church.
