Helen Marie Tedstrom- 88

Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at her residence. She was born to the late Johnnie Jesse Joplin and Lizzie Dee Joplin on August 14, 1937, in Potter, Arkansas.

Helen was a homemaker and resided in Orlando, Florida for 40 years with her husband and children. Upon her husbands retirement, the whole family moved to Valdosta in 2004. Helen was an avid reader a not so skilled bowler, and “Bingo Mama” loved to play bingo.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 65 years, Harley Ray Tedstrom of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Robin Tedstrom of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Douglas Tedstrom of Valdosta, Georgia; brother, Monroe (LaDonna) Joplin of Coffeyville, Kansas; sister-in-law, Donna Joplin of Coffeyville, Kansas; sister, Bonnie (Stan) Herrenbruck of Coffeyville, Kansas; brother, Richard Jay Joplin of Coffeyville, Kansas; brother, Jerry Joplin of Bartow, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Jessie and Ronnie; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Howard and Mildred Tedstrom; brothers-in-law: Darrell and Robert Tedstrom; sisters-in-law: Janet Joplin and Carol Joplin.

Family also wants to give a special thanks to Lattina Sadler who provided love and exceptional care of “Mrs. Beautiful.”

As per her wishes she will be cremated with no additional services held. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Tedstrom family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
