Hilda Wylodine Brogdon - 81
Of Walhalla, South Carolina, formerly of Lakeland, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Residences of Park Place. A native of Lanier County, GA, Mrs. Brogdon was the daughter of the late Ruell “Doc” Laymen and Thelma (Durrance) Cook. She made her career in public service as an emergency services dispatcher for the Oconee County, South Carolina 911 service, where she worked for 5 years, and retired from the Lanier County Georgia Sheriff’s department with 16 years of service to her home community. She was also a past municipal judge in Westminster, South Carolina. Mrs. Brogdon was a past president of the K & E (Knight and Empire) Club. Her hobbies included a love for fishing, playing cards and shopping, but her favorite past time was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brogdon is preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Harrison and Clyde Brogdon; her siblings: Louelle Corbett, Leroy Cook and Anne Laura Clanton.
Mrs. Brogdon is survived by her sons: Ken Harrison (Lauren), Jeff Harrison (Ginger), and Tim Harrison; and daughters: Donna Alexander (Richard) and Pam Goettl (Barry).
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Sunday, July 31, 2022 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. A private burial will be held at Empire Cemetery. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at
