Houston Jerome Deaver – 73
Of Lakeland, GA, formerly of Fernandina Beach FL and , Augusta, GA passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital, Lakeland, GA, after a short illness. He was born in McColl, South Carolina to the late Houston & Nellie Mae Bullard Deaver on November 2, 1938. He graduated from McColl, SC High School and received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and his Masters degree from the University of Georgia. Before retirement, he was a District Director, an administrative position, with the Georgia Department of Human Resources. One of his passions in life was working with abandoned and abused animals through humane agencies. The humane organization RAIN in Nassau County, FL was a favorite.

Wife of 39 years Susan Johnson Deaver Lakeland, GA
2 Brothers & Sisters-in-law Lamont C. & Mary Deaver Loudon, TN
Warren W. & Gay Frances Deaver Ashville, NC
And a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Beaver Dam Cemetery in Ray City, GA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
