Of Valdosta passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Cairo, Ga on February 7, 1919 to the late Pliney and Minnie Cone Ray. Mr. Ray lived in Valdosta for most of his life. He was Baptist by faith, served in the United States Army during WWII, the battle of Iwo Jima and was a member of the American Legion Post 13. His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting and watching War Movies. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lois Morris.

Survivors Include: Daughter, Merol Harrell, Valdosta; Grandchildren: Cherie Kirkpatrick, Chad Kirkpatrick Lillie, Ken Kirkpatrick and Kellie Lister Jonathon; Great Grandchildren: Kiley Lister, Kurt Lister, Chad Kirkpatrick and Caleb Kirkpatrick.

Graveside Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 26, 2007 in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman.

Music Funeral Services of Valdosta is serving the Ray family.
