Of Steinhatchee, FL passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Echols County, GA on September 12, 1935 to the late Martin C. & Minnie Rose Cribbs Chauncey. He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Chauncey was preceded in death by his son, Isom Ike Chauncey, a grandson, 3 brothers and a sister.
Survivors include: Wife, Charla Chauncey, Steinhatchee, FL, Daughters & Sons-in-law, Diane & Mike Newsome, Davison, MI, Angela & Eddie Tait, Valdosta, GA, Penny Thomas, Valdosta, GA, Step Daughters & Sons-in-law, Tammara Austin Montpas, Steinhatchee, FL, Christina Sean Etson, Flint, MI, 12 Grandchildren: BJ, Shanda, Troy, Nicholas, Alex, Jacob, Ashley, Alicia, Kelsea, Becca, Gavin & Gabe, 2 Great Granchildren: Madison and Nicholas, Jr., 4 Sisters, 2 Brothers
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 20, 2009 in Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Chauncey will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at The Chauncey house 1320 Chauncey Road, Dupont, GA from 4 PM Saturday, April 18, 2009 until service time.
