Jack Melton- 82
Of Lakeland, GA passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born December 25, 1931 to the late Lish and Lilie Darling Melton in Fitzgerald, GA. He served in the United States Air Force for 8 years with the fire department. After his service he became employed with Civil Service at Moody Air Force Base continuing his career as a Firefighter until his retirement. He was a member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Lowndes County and a member of Lakeland Masonic Lodge #434. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Pam Melton and two brothers Earl Melton & Lamar Bud Melton.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services in Lakeland, GA with burial to follow in Burnt Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
