James E. Brogdon

James E Brogdon – 88, of Lakeland, passed away Saturday, July 13,2019 at the Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. James was born on August 20, 1930 in Nashville, GA to the late Ellie and Birdie (Guthrie) Brogdon. Mr. Brogdon was a lifetime farmer. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with all his family. He was preceded in death by his son, James Lamar Brogdon, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include: Loving Wife of 69 years; Arlene Sirmans Brogdon of Lakeland, GA. Children; Avy B. (Jimmy) Hiers, Valdosta, GA, Donald (Patricia Dianne) Brogdon, Lakeland, GA, Ronnie (Patty) Brogdon, Lakeland, GA, Patricia Brogdon, Lakeland, GA, Rhonda Lynn (Bryan) Suggs, Lakeland, GA, Kenneth D (Gena Rene’) Brogdon, Irwinton, GA, Cynthia Arlene Royals and Fiancé, Michael Paulk, Douglas, GA, 17 Grandchildren; 28 Great grandchildren; 2 Great, great grandchildren, Brother; Robert Julius (Iva) Brogdon, Homerville, GA, Sister; Sally B Harper, Nashville, GA, Numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in the Trinity Holiness Baptist Church with burial to follow at Guthrie Cemetery. Mr. Brogdon will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home on Monday, July 15, 2019.
