Jay Davis, age 67, of Hahira, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Jay was born in Madison, FL, on September 26, 1958, to loving parents, James Bishop Davis Jr. and Martha Owen Davis.
He dedicated many years of his life to his family’s business, working hard and taking pride in all he accomplished. Jay loved his family deeply and loved in a big way that could be felt by everyone around him. He was optimistic, enthusiastic, and lived each day to the fullest, always finding joy in the moment and sharing that joy with others. Jay loved God and carried his faith with him throughout his life. He was known for his generous spirit, his huge heart, and his selfless nature, always willing to help others and give without expecting anything in return. His kindness, warmth, and love for life will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him. Jay enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, watching his favorite sports teams, Nascar, and going to concerts. He loved to encourage and support his kids and grandkids in all their activities.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Owen Davis, grandparents, J.B. Davis Sr. and wife, Florida Pine Langford Davis; and grandparents James C. and Pauline Nunn Owen.
Jay is survived by his loving wife of over fifteen years, Renee Davis of Hahira, GA; sons and daughter, Justin Davis (Kimberly) of Madison, FL, Jayce Davis (Amber) of Warner Robins, GA, Jarrett Davis (Kayla) of Tampa, FL and Brittany Moore (Parker) of Nashville, GA; grandchildren, Payton Davis (Molly), Keillor Davis (Emma), John Thomas Fulghum, Rylie Davis, Florida Davis, Draper Davis and Piper Moore; father and wife, Jimmy Davis and Sue of Hahira, GA; sister, Lynne Saunders (Bill) of Gainesville, FL and brother, Hank Davis (Tonja) of Madison, FL and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members who he loved dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Cross Pointe Church. The family will receive friends at 10:00AM. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Madison, FL. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Davis family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Cross Pointe Church of Valdosta, GA.
