James Vernon Howell – 74

Of Valdosta, GA, passed away on November 9, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on January 19, 1940 in Hahira, GA to the late James Clayton Howell and Nellie B. Owens Howell. He worked as a plant foreman at Union Camp Chemical Company. He loved to go fishing, enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and playing with his loving dog, Molly. His favorite flower was a red amaryllis. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Michael Howell and a sister, Jean Coffey.

His survivors include his Wife of 43 years, Carol Dean Howell of Valdosta, GA; Son, Bobby Howell of Jacksonville, FL; Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Karen Jean & Virgil Montgomery of Naylor, GA, Terri Lynn & Donny Meitz of Jacksonville, FL; Son, Steven Howell of Savannah, GA; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Beverly & John Baltrus of Valdosta, GA; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Randy & Jennifer Dalton of Richmond, VA; Grandchildren, Joseph & Candy Montgomery, Heather Montgomery, Leanna Howell, Robert Howell, Courtney Meitz, Jamie Baltrus, Thomas Baltrus, Taylor Baltrus, Jake Kroening; Great Grandchildren, Trent Montgomery, Haylee Montgomery, Jaylen Dalton; Brothers & Sister-in-Law, Ronnie Howell of Hahira, GA, Earl & Linda Howell of Valdosta, GA; Sisters & Brothers-in-Law, Evadean & Larry Pittman of Valdosta, GA, Jackie Southerland of Hahira, GA, Brenda & Dwaine Jones of Valdosta, GA; Sisters-in-Law, Sylvia Allbritton and Kathryn Connell both of Valdosta, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2:00PM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
