James S. Harpe – 67
Of Ray City, GA passed away Saturday night, November 28, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Berrien County, Georgia to the late Russell B., Sr. & Aline Brantley Harpe. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his girls and spending time with his family. He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Ray City. He was preceded in death by a son, James S. Harpe, Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Anabelle & Isabell Wood, Sister; Lucille Fender; 3 brothers, Marion B. Harpe, Eugene Harpe, & Russell B. Harpe, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in the First Baptist Church in Ray City with burial following in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta, GA. Mr. Harpe will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
