James Franklin Herring, Sr. 80
Of Dawsonville, GA formerly of Lowndes County, GA passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Barretts/Ray City on February 20, 1929 to the late Grover C. & Comer Cooper Herring. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, but attended and worshiped with many area churches. Mr. Herring was preceded in death by his son, James F. Herring, Jr., a Brother, Remer L. Herring, Sister, Frances Herring Moore and a granddaughter, Stephanie Dianne Herring

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2009 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday October 1, 2009 at the funeral home.
