Of Valdosta passed away late Tuesday evening April 3, 2007 in South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born June 2, 1930 in Berrien County to the late Collis Remer and Lucille Coppage Martin. Mr. Martin retired from the United States Air Force after serving 20 years. After retirement, Jim went to work for and retired with 20 years from the Georgia Department of Corrections. Along with his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by sister, Louise Fisher, and brothers, Raymond Martin & Johnny Martin.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 6, 2007 in the Friendship Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered. The Rev. Charlie Scarborough officiated.
