James Alfred Lee (Scooter/Jimmy) (1946-2023)
James Alfred Lee, 76, of Lake Park, GA, died at home of natural causes on October 26, 2023.
He was born in Independence LA in 1946 and preceeded in death by parents James Monroe and Elouise P. Lee and survived by his sister Patricia Lee Lyerla and his wife Janet Catherine Hebert Lee.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and friend, always had a joke to make people smile. He was a good friend to many and built lifelong relationships with countless people.
He attended West Jefferson Highschool before studying Business at Southeastern Louisiana University, going on to work in the field of Construction and Construction Manufacturing. Ultimately becoming a Senior Consultant contributing to the construction of over 80 high-rise building across the United States and the world. Jimmy and Janet enjoyed this work as it afforded them the opportunity to travel the world working in exotic locations such as Thailand, the Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates. Jimmy held a patten for a revolutionary granite anchor.
Jimmy met the love of his life, Janet in 1960 at Pontchartrain Beach Amusement Park in New Orleans, LA. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married March 26, 1966 and soon started a family of their own. Their children meant the world to them and family time was always paramount as the kids grew up. James Aaron Lee would be born first followed by Jeffrey Alan Lee. James Aaron married Dana Carrol Byars in 1985 and produced 2 grandchildren. Jeffrey married Jena Marie Hair in 1990 and provided 2 more grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by 4 grandchildren, James Alan (Jessica), Andrew James (Emily), Joshua Adam (Michelle), and Katherine Patricia (Adam); and 6 great grandchildren, Fletcher James, Riley Beth, Eliza Carolynn, Josie Lee, Louis Namon, and Violet Cordelia.
Jimmy had a soft spot for his beloved Yorkies, Scooter Pie and Beau Dog. He loved his dogs more than anything and could not bear being apart from them.
Jimmy led an active live and was involved in numerous organizations throughout his life.
Organizations include, Kiwanis Club, YMBC, New Orleans Enduro Association, South Georgia Classic Corvette Club, and Miracle Strip Corvette Club. He enjoyed many pastimes through his lifetime, including golf, SCUBA diving, snow skiing, motorcycle (Enduro) racing, fishing, and car restoration.
