Of Stockton, GA passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born June 25, 1942 to the late James Buck & Nellie Doris Bennett Harris in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Harris retired as a SSgt from the United States Army after 20 years of service. He served 2 tours in Vietnam. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jessie Allen Fender, 2 brothers, Robert Bennett and Raymond Bennett
Survivors Include: 3 Daughters & Sons-in-law: Cheri & Ricky Dent, Lakeland, GA, Connie & Jim Hammitt, Omaha, NE and Corrine Harrell, Nashville, GA; 2 Sons: James Harris, Stockton, GA and Jessie Harris, Old Bridge, NJ; 10 Grandchildren: Kendra Dent, Jera Dent, Jessica Harris, Dalton Harris, Sandra Fiskeaux, Jonathan Fiskeaux, Kayla Famonly, Daniel Hammitt, Timothy "T.J." Benefield, and Heather Crawford; 2 Brothers: Roy Harris, Fernandina Beach, FL and Kenny Harris, Fernandina Beach, FL; 2 Sisters & Brother-in-law: Doris & Denny Beaman, Litteton, CO, Louise Sampson, Valdosta, GA and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Friday, June 5, 2015 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
