James “Earl” Lovett, 86
of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born to the late James Clayton Lovett and Ethel (Bryan) Lovett on October 30, 1938, in Sparks, Georgia. Earl was married to the love of his life, Barbara, for an incredible 63 years. He had a deep love for his garden, where he spent countless hours cultivating vegetables and finding peace in the earth’s rhythms. Earl was also a proud Air Force veteran, having served his country with honor and commitment. His legacy is one of unwavering love, hard work, and a life well-lived, leaving behind a trail of cherished memories for all who knew him. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: John Lovett and Hubert Lovett. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Strickland Lovett of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Jamie Lovett (Jamie Leigh) of Hoschton, Georgia; daughter, Rhonda Arnold (Lee) of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren: Blake Highfill, Hayley Highfill, and Matthew Lovett; sisters: Mary Alice Nesmith, Merle Moore, Robbie Nell Futch, and Jean Lewis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A private family entombment with military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
