James Franklin Mathis

Of Lakeland, passed away Thursday evening June 19, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born January 29, 1934 in Berrien County, Georgia to the late James Fountain and Eunie Tyson Hall Mathis. He was a brick mason and farmer for more than 30 year. He worked for the J.H Harvey Company for the past 23 years. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Lakeland, Georgia. He was preceded in death by a step daughter, Michelle Crawford.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Fender Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
