James Cecil "J.C." McKinnon – 69
Of Hahira, GA passed away at his residence early Tuesday morning, March 15, 2016. Mr. McKinnon was born on November 30, 1946 in Coffee County, GA to the late Harvey and Ruby Ricketson McKinnon. Along with his parents, Mr. McKinnon was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Neal McKinnon. During his lifetime, Mr. McKinnon worked in the textile industry as a sewing machine mechanic with the Dowling Bag Company. In his later years, he worked for six years with Georgia Power Company and twelve years with Best Bet Mini Storage.
Mr. McKinnon is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Carl & Melba McKinnon, of Nashville, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, April & Jeff Harrell, of Valdosta, GA; three grandchildren, Matt Harrell, Drew Harrell, and Morgan McKinnon, all of Valdosta, GA; a sister, Lillian M. Granberry, of Nashville, TN; a former spouse, Bonnie McKinnon, of Valdosta, GA; two nephews, Jack Granberry, of Hendersonville, TN and Kris McKinnon of Alma, GA; and a cousin, Charldine "Dee" Hightower, of Ambrose, GA and extended family from Douglas, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
