Rev. James Daniel Pearson – 78

Of Quitman, Georgia was born May 15, 1926 in Berrien County, the son of James Calvin & Beckie Jane Pearson. Rev. Pearson pastored for a total of 50 years. He began his ministerial work in North, Florida in the early 50’s. He later moved to Georgia where he began his pastoral work at the Mayday Church of God in Echols County. He pastored there for 9 years until 1964. He then moved to the Quitman Church of God and pastored for 10 years until 1974. He then moved to the Swilley Hill Church of God, below Valdosta, for 10 years before moving back to the Quitman Church of God, where he was still serving as pastor until God called him home.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday May 5, 2005 in the Quitman Church of God with burial following in Oak Hill Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial maybe made to the Quitman Church of God, Building Fund, 330 Forrest Lane, Quitman, Georgia 31643.
