Of Lake Park passed away early Tuesday April 10, 2012 morning at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born November 1, 1938 in Quitman, GA to the late Frank and Nolie Akins Rentz. He served in the United States Air Force prior to his career and retirement from Northwest Airlines as a customer service agent. Mr. Rentz was a dedicated Christian who loved serving the Lord and therefore was called upon numerous times to lead the congregation in prayer at Francis Lake Baptist Church where he was a member
Survivors include: Wife, Helen Gregory Duke Rentz, Lake Park, GA; 4 Daughters and Son-in-Law, Sherry Tyre & Steve Harwell, Smiths, AL, Rhonda and Richard Barney, Panama, City, FL Wendy Lane, Valdosta, GA Ouida Lampert, Lancaster, PA; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Jim & Debbie Duke, Pensacola, FL; Grandchildren – Kayla Barney, Ivy Brooks, James Tyre IV, Morgan Lane and Brandon Duke; Great Grandchildren – Mason, Harrison, Nathan, Matthew and Melea; Including a number of extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. in the Valdosta chapel of Music Funeral Services until service time at 1:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. Eldridge Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
