James Ronald “Ronnie” Newsome – 66
Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 11, 1954 in Lakeland, GA to the late Julias Clarence Newsome and Nellie Mae (Spells) Newsome. Mr. Ronnie was a veteran where he served in the United States Army. He worked for many years in the log woods where he was a supervisor before he retired. He loved traveling to the mountains and fishing. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Amanda Lee Newsome and brother-in-law, Wayne Ganas.
Survivors include: Wife, Penny Newsome of Lakeland, GA; Sons, Billy Ray and Mandy Harris of Lakeland, GA, Eric and Jessica Newsome of Lakeland, GA, Jamie Newsome of Lakeland, GA; Grandchildren: Trey Harris, Danielle Coleman, Caroline Baldwin, Hillary Bailey, Jonathan Bailey, Kylie Harris, Kelsie Harris, Cassidy Newsome, Reagan Newsome, Eden Newsome, Lindsey Newsome, Trinity Newsome, Kenlie Newsome, Aubrey Newsome, Dakota Newsome, Braden Newsome; Great Grandchildren: Remington Coleman, Jaylen Harris, Jenson Harris; Brothers, Bobby Fender of Chicago, IL, Julius “Buddy” Newsome and wife Brenda of Lakeland, GA; Sisters, Patricia Ganas of Lakeland, GA, Debbie Morrison and husband Donnie of Moss Bluff, FL.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
