Of Lakeland, GA passed away Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness, while surrounded by loved ones singing him into the presence of his Savior. After losing his beloved wife Mary Faye Moore Sirmans of 51 years, he was longing to be with her and Jesus. He was born July 24, 1938 in Clinch County, to the late James Ernest and Edna Lee Tomlinson Sirmans of Lanier County, GA. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. By trade he was a master carpenter, until his health forced him to retire. He LOVED to fish, but God put a stronger desire in his heart to be a FISHER OF MEN, always quick to be a bold witness for Jesus. Many times he was misunderstood, but those that really knew him, knew he had a heart of gold, who would give the shirt off of his back without men's applause. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone at any time; even more so, when the Lord started a new church. One thing is for sure he really loved his JESUS!

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Southside Baptist Church with burial to follow at Burnt Church Cemetery in Lanier County, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
