James Raymond Studstill, Sr. – 79
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born on September 9, 1937 in Lakeland, GA to the late John F. and Lizzie (Conine) Studstill. Mr. Studstill attended UGA where he received a Master’s in Education. He was in the Educational field for 52 years serving various schools throughout the Southeast being a teacher, Coach, Assistant Principal, and even a Vocational Director for Valdosta High School. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs, Valdosta Wildcats and the Lanier County Bulldogs. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Lee Studstill, his brother, Franklin E. Studstill, Tommy Studstill and a sister, Mary Alice Giddens.
Survivors include his Daughters & Son-in-Law, Jennifer & Paul Williams of Valdosta, GA, Margaret Suzanne Willoughby of Valdosta, GA; Son & Daughter-in-Law, James Raymond & Kelly Studstill, Jr of Collierville, TN; 8 Grandchildren, Jordan Williams, Madison Studstill, Camden Studstill, Grayson Studstill, Haisten Studstill, Carol Willoughby, Paul Willoughby, Raymond Willoughby; Great Granddaughter, Evelyn Laird.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Burnt Church Cemetery in Lakeland, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, March 21, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
