Jamie Wright – 85
Of Ray City, GA passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at her residence. She was born on March 6, 1926 in Moultrie, GA to the late Joseph E. and Minnie Pearl Goss Matthews, Sr. She worked with Civil Service for more than 20 years and was a member of Ray City United Methodist Church. She was a friend to everyone and would always come to the aid of anyone in need. She enjoyed doing what she described as "Taking care of old people". Ms. Wright owned and managed rental property in the Ray City and Barretts area, was a auxiliary lady with the Ray City Volunteer Fire Department and was Berrien County's Checker Champion.
Loving Christian Mother of:Daughters and Sons-in-law, Colleen Bracewell, Enigma, GA, Diane & Scott Cody, Hahira, GA, Tammie & Bill Hurley, Valdosta, GA, 7 Grandchildren: Pat Goforth, Peggy Sanders, Sandy Bracewell Daphne, Leighan Goodwin Marty, Mika Brogdon Scottie, Ashley Turner Josh, and Zack Hurley April; 16 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren, Brother, J.E. & Elois Matthews, Moultrie, GA; A number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 28, 2011 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Beaver Dam Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to a organization to benefit children.
