Janice Elaine Wheeler

February 10, 1960 — November 26, 2025

Nashville, Georgia

Janice Elaine St. John Wheeler, 65, of Nashville, Georgia, slipped away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at her home. She was born on February 10, 1960, in Valdosta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Julian M. St. John and Dorothy White St. John.

Janice devoted many years to her work as a hematologist at SGMC–Lanier Campus, where she was admired for her strong work ethic and quiet dedication. She cared deeply for her coworkers and cherished the friendships she made along the way. She was the kind of woman who’d give you the shirt off her back without a moment’s hesitation, always ready to help anyone she could. Janice simply loved people, and folks could feel that love the moment she walked into a room.

Away from the hospital, Janice found her joy in the simple, steady rhythms of country living. She loved tending to her garden, blessed with a true green thumb, feeding her chickens and cows and soaking in the peacefulness of the land she called home. She was member of Knights Memorial Baptist Church and truly loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

More than anything, Janice was proud to be “Mimi.” Her grandchildren were her greatest blessing, and she held that role close to her heart, considering it her number one purpose in life.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wheeler and her brother, Chris St John.

Survivors include her sons: Kevin Wheeler of Lakeland, Georgia and Brian Wheeler (Alice) of Valdosta, Georgia; special friend, Caysee Wheeler of Nashville, Georgia; grandchildren: Michelle Wheeler, Brayden Wheeler, Brenden Wheeler, Baylee Wheeler, Brody Wheeler, Brianna Browning, Gabby Wheeler, Natalie Wheeler and Mackenzie Wheeler; numerous other loving family members.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2025 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services, Lakeland with Bro. Jimmy Spikes officiating.
