Jeanette "Nikki" Brooks

Jeanette “Nikki” Brooks, 64, affectionately known by her family as “Nikki” passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on December 13, 1957 in Dixie, Georgia to the late Ferris Lee Bryant and Lottie Mae (Stewart) Bryant. She worked for nearly 20 years with the Valdosta City School System as a dedicated educator. She loved her students, building relationships with them, and having a special connection with students with special needs. She loved the Brooks County Trojans and any Friday night you could find her “Bringing the Hammer”. She was known for spunky personality, her style, kind heart, and traveling. During her travels, she never met a stranger, especially at her favorite restaurants, Mama June’s and Waffle House. Spending 37 years with the love of her life, George, they started a family. She was dedicated to her family as a loving and protective mother and grandmother to her girls. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her nine siblings: Dorothy Peeples, Melvin Bryant, Eugene Bryant, Ellis Bryant, Sr., Willie Gene Bryant, James Bryant, Arthur Bryant, Cynthia Bryant and Diane Bryant.
Survivors include her husband, George Brooks of Valdosta, Georgia, children: LaKisha Brooks of Cartersville, Georgia, Tabitha Brooks of Dallas, Georgia, Richmond Aaron Brooks of Valdosta, Georgia, Gwendolyn Brooks of Valdosta, Georgia; granddaughter, Arianna Graham, two on the way, Autumn Nikki Brooks and Ashlyn Jeanette Brooks, siblings, Mary Alice Bryant of Thomasville, Georgia, Robert Bryant of Valdosta, Georgia, Frank Bryant (Selena) of Valdosta, Georgia, Ebenezer McFarland (Daniel) of Valdosta, Georgia, Sylvia Bryant of Cairo, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and extended family members.
