Jerry Lynn Kozuch, age 80, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center.
Born on July 25, 1945, in Newport, Tennessee, Jerry was the daughter of the late William Robert Fisher and Cynthia Pauline (McCarter) Haynes.
Jerry was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Valdosta. She was actively involved in her community and was known for her warm spirit and generous heart. She proudly served as a Red Hat Queen, was a dedicated member of the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce, and was honored as Ambassador of the Year for her outstanding service. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, CCW and The Strummers of Valdosta.
Jerry found great joy in creative pursuits, including crafting, sewing, and jewelry making. Above all else, she treasured her family. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandchildren, especially Nathan, Nick, and Jessica, whom she adored beyond measure.
In addition to her parents, Jerry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Kozuch, and her son, Robbie Sifford of Leesburg, Georgia.
She is survived by her children: Misty Wrye (Jamie) of Lakeland, Georgia, Keith Sifford (Dianne) of Macon, Georgia; Stepchildren: Ronnie Roberts (Jack) of Albany, Georgia, Randy Kozuch of Alexandria, Virginia, Tony Kozuch of Albany, Georgia, Karen Kozuch of Albany, Georgia; grandchildren: Nathan Wrye (Jenna), Nick Wrye, Jessica Workman (Dan), Heaven McDonald (Steve); Kelly Melvin (John) Chase Roberts (Katelyn), Lisa Kozuch, Christine Johnson (Scott); sister, Joy Evans of Tennessee; brother, Joe Haynes (Christy) of Tennessee; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2026 at St. Johns the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Valdosta. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the funeral home in Valdosta.
