Jerry Mullis

Jerry Clinton Mullis, 75, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born on December 8, 1950, to the late Johnny and Louise (Dennis) Mullis. Jerry retired as the Maintenance Director for the Lanier County Board of Education. He was also a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church.

Above all, Jerry loved his family dearly. His home was always a place of warmth, love, and welcome. If you came to Jerry’s house, you could count on one thing—you were going to eat! He enjoyed cooking for those he loved and passing along his knowledge, skills, and family traditions to the next generation. Making sure everyone was fed and cared for was simply one of the many ways he showed his love.

In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed playing poker and watching his favorite westerns, especially Gunsmoke. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life and in the time he spent with the people who meant the most to him.
