Jerry Powell

Jerry Powell – 79 of Lakeland passed away Thursday, December 06, 2018 at his residence. He was born on June 12, 1939 in Lanier County, GA to the late Joseph B. & Neta Mae Powell, Sr. Jerry graduated from Lanier County High School and attended Valdosta State College. He retired from the Georgia State Patrol and the Lanier County Probation Office. Jerry was a member of Lakeland United Methodist Church. He had won many awards for shotgun skeet shooting. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph B. (Joe) Powell, Jr.
Survivors include: Niece, Susan Powell, Albany, GA; Nephew: Robert D. “Bobby” Powell (Valerie), Albany, GA; Longtime devoted special friend: Pamela Woods, Ray City; caregiver, Ashley Sheffield, Lakeland and a number of cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Fender Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held.
