Jess Randell Courson, 58, Of Madison, Florida passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at his home. He was born on May 9, 1963 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Marvin W. Courson, Sr. and Mildred Faye (Smith) Courson. Mr. Jess worked in sheet rock construction, body work and was known for being a “Jack of all Trades”. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs Football fan and loved many other sports as well. He was always kind, loved children and a very good friend. He enjoyed cooking and traveling to the islands. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Teresa A. Burroughs; brother-in-law, David Sorrell.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Hart of Florida; 3 grandchildren; siblings: Betty Evans of Quitman, Georgia, Carla Courson of Ray City, Georgia, Judy Sorrell of Madison, Florida, Ava Krekel (Patrick) of Hahira, Georgia, Marvin W. “Sonny” Courson, Jr. (Kay) of Adel, Georgia, Lamar A. Courson (Tammy) of Lake City, Florida; Brother-in-law, Thomas W. Burroughs II of Atlanta, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery, Hahira, Georgia.
