Jesse Lee Hatcher, Jr.- 82
Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at his residence. He was born on October 11, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Jesse Lee Hatcher, Sr. and Doris Murray Hatcher. Lee proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he was stationed aboard the USS Wasp and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Lee had a passion for electronics which led to a 30-year career with IBM. He also loved traveling and cherished spending time with his family. He was an active member of Redland Baptist Church, where he deeply valued his church family and enjoyed participating in mission trips with them. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Williams Hatcher.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Beggs Hatcher of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Jesse “Trey” Lee Hatcher III (Angela) of Naylor, Georgia; daughter, Jo Liane Hatcher Register (Fred) of Homerville, Georgia; grandchildren: Jessie Leigh Hatcher of Naylor, Georgia, Maxwell Luke Hatcher of Naylor, Georgia, Perry Liam Hatcher of Naylor, Georgia, Pierce Landon Hatcher of Naylor, Georgia, Carrie Hannah Register Gaston (Robert) of Thomasville, Georgia, Caleb Christian Register of Valdosta, Georgia; step sons: Brian Rehberg (Heather) of Lake Park, Georgia and Jim Rehberg (Debbie) of Adel, Georgia; step grandchildren: Tyler Rehberg (Taelor) of Lake Park, Georgia, Bailey Rehberg of Valdosta, Georgia, Laura Smith-Webb of Valdosta, Georgia, Tara Smith of Valdosta, Georgia; two step great grandchildren: Thomas Rehberg of Lake Park, Georgia and Talon Rehberg of Lake Park, Georgia; sister, Bebe Hatcher Exley of Springfield, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Redland Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Bay Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylvania, Georgia.
