Jesus Acosta, Jr., age 70, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on June 6, 2024, at Harborview Nursing Home in Tifton, Georgia. He was born on April 30, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Jesus Acosta, Sr. and Milagros Acosta. Jesus was an artist of many sorts, whether it be writing poetry and painting portraits. He also loved his family. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Henry Acosta.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan Acosta of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Samara Acosta of Tifton, Georgia; granddaughter, Elaina Fryslie; grandson, Bryson Kemp; brother, Angelo Acosta and wife Daphne of Cabo de Rojo, Puerto Rico; brother Rigoberto Acosta and wife Mirtita of Ponce, Puerto Rico; sister, Esther Rodriquez of Cabo de Rojo, Puerto Rico; brother-in-law, Kenneth Johnson of Valdosta, Georgia; father-in-law, Joseph Kennedy of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and spiritual friends world-wide.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 15, 2024, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4244 N. Forrest St. Extension, Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
