Jewel Kent Pafford

Jewel Kent Pafford – 86 of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 in the South Georgia Medical Center after an illness. She was born on August 17, 1934 in Brooks County, Georgia to the late Jesse Vera (Jones) and James Loy Flowers. Jewel worked with Levi Straus Company for over 30 years. She was a loving wife and nurturing mother. Jewel had a servant’s heart and always took care of those around her. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and putting up vegetables. She was a phenomenal cook and the holidays were some of her favorite times with her family. She was most proud of her grandchildren. Her great great-granddaughter, Raelynn, brought a smile to her face. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Kent; granddaughter, Jessica Shaver; brothers: Clarence Flowers, Wallace Flowers, Bill Flowers; sister, Patsy Aquino.

Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Jody Pafford of Valdosta, GA; Children: Sammie Kent of Valdosta, GA, Debi K. Waters and husband Jim of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Renee Spencer and husband Jeremy of Berrien County, GA, Richard Kent of Gainesville, FL; Great Grandchildren: Alex, Thomas, Lexy, Grace; Great Great-granddaughter, Raelynn; Sisters: Shirley Nazworth of Pelham, GA, Arnell MacFarlane of Debary, FL, Laverne Stone of Debary, FL; Numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 29, 2021 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will see friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday.
