Of Quitman, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Leesburg, Florida on December 6, 1929 to the late Jessie James and Luvenia Knight Addison. Mrs. Godwin was a member of Church of the Nazaree in Quitman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Godwin and her son, Stephen Smithie.
Survivors Include:
2 Daughters & Sons-in-law:Brenda & Glenn Hall of Moultrie, GA; Linda & Ben Terry of Quitman, GA; 6 Sons & Daughters-in-law: James Smithie of Valdosta,
GA; John & Gladys Smithie of Valdosta, GA; Billy Smithie of Quitman, GA; Jerry & Christine Smithie
of Quitman, GA; Elwood & Sonya Godwin of Lake Park,
GA; Harvey Godwin, Jr. of Quitman, GA;
19 Grandchildren, and 20 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 21, 2012 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Music Funeral Services of Valdosta is serving the family.
